Workshops for leadership teams
Get your leadership
team pulling in
one direction.
Workshops built around the change you need to make: where you’re going, who owns what, and what you're doing about it.
Maybe you’ve tried changing. You set OKRs, used EOS or Scaling Up, or adopted the Spotify model. You read the books and you even hired an expensive consultant, but the same problems came back a few months later. Another framework won’t help. You need your own way, developed for your company and your culture.
Six years at Google. Two at Amazon. CPO of a 40-person startup. 16 startup leadership teams.

Three areas to work on
Start with the one that sounds like you.
Focus
Everyone has a different idea of where you’re going. Decide it together.

Ownership
Work falls through the gaps. Make it clear who owns what.

Alignment
Conflicts arise as the quarter progresses. Keep everyone moving together, all quarter.

The workshops
Focus

Ownership
Make it clear who owns what
Alignment
Keep everyone moving together, all quarter
Every one of these costs something each week it carries on. Add it up before you decide it can wait.
What it looks like when it works
Ask your leaders where you’re going, and you hear the same answer.
The leadership meeting ends with decisions, and they hold.
Everyone knows what’s theirs, so less comes back to you.
The quarter runs on a rhythm, and someone inside runs it.
Problems that have been stuck for months get solved in weeks.
You spend your time on where the company goes next.
How a workshop runs
1
Before: I talk to your people first
Short conversations with each leader who’ll be in the room, so we start with what’s really going on.
2
The workshop: half a day to two days
In person or online. Your leaders make the calls, and you lead them. I bring in what I’ve seen elsewhere when it helps, and help you decide.
3
After: as much support as you need
I follow up when we agree, to see what’s working and what isn’t, and support you as much or as little as you need.
OKRs that took the company up-market
A Series D data SaaS scale-up whose product had stopped selling refocused on the world’s biggest customers, got on budget, and stopped pulling its CEO into everything.

Who you'll be working with
I run every session myself.
I spent six years at Google, then two at Amazon, where I led a 100-person organisation. Since then, I’ve worked with over 200 leaders and 16 startup leadership teams as a facilitator and coach.
If I’m not the right person to help, I’ll introduce you to someone who could be.
What clients say
“
A transformational workshop
We have got so much out of your workshop, Richard! … We're all busier doing proactive business growth stuff, safe in the knowledge that we are all on the same page. It's not an overstatement to say that your workshop has been transformational.

Someone outside the process
He did a discovery project with our senior leadership team. They all really like talking to Richard and gave us really clear recommendations for how to move forward… It's so hard when you're a CEO or a founder to do it yourself because you're in the process.

Goal-setting that grew with us
The process had worked when we were smaller but, as we doubled in size, the process broke down. Richard was instrumental in helping us reset and get effective with OKRs; he helped us be more focused, more productive and better at taking the tough conversations about what actually gets prioritised.

What it costs
Each workshop is different, so we talk first. You get a suggested format and a price before anyone commits.
Coaching alongside
Many clients add coaching for the founder or key leaders alongside a workshop, so the change sticks between sessions, and they can work through the issues that come up.
Setting this up for someone?
If one workshop fits, send that workshop’s page: each has its own, with examples. For the whole range, here’s a line you can forward:
Richard runs workshops that get a leadership team agreeing the strategy, the goals or who owns what, and then running it themselves.
If you invest in a founder, or sit on their board, and their leadership team needs to get pulling in one direction, introduce us.

A real boost in how we operate.
Our company's operating system? Well, it was a bit of a mess, to be honest. But Richard came in, rolled up his sleeves, and helped us sort it out in no time. … We've seen a real boost in how efficiently we operate thanks to him.

Plans made rock solid
Richard has a fascinating ability to challenge one’s thoughts and strategies by playing the devil’s advocate so as to make the new plans rock solid. … Although he is really smart and has a lot of experience, he never has a hierarchical or “know-it-all” approach, which I highly appreciated while working with him.
